Data processed

When the user explicitly chooses “Add selection to ContextCrate,” the extension stores:

• the selected text;
• the title and URL of the source page;
• the time the excerpt was saved;
• locally configured prompt settings.

Storage and transmission

This information is stored only in Chrome's local extension storage on the user's device. ContextCrate does not transmit it to the developer, an AI provider, an analytics provider, an advertising network, or any other third party.

ContextCrate has no developer-operated backend, user accounts, analytics, advertisements, or remote code. It does not sell user data.

The user controls any later disclosure by copying or downloading the generated prompt and choosing where to use it.

Retention and deletion

Saved excerpts remain on the device until the user removes individual excerpts, selects “Clear all,” clears the extension's storage, or uninstalls the extension.

Permissions

• activeTab temporarily provides the source page title after the user invokes the save command.
• contextMenus provides the user-invoked command for saving selected text.
• storage stores excerpts and settings locally.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected on this page and accompanied by an updated date.
